Gotcha.

Well, Lisa's notes are $10 and are worth what you pay. They will NOT stand alone.

As to NC 7 dig out any fundamentals text. Memorize who the important nurses were, what the various theories and their inventors are, and the dates of important nursing and health care legislation. It's really not a difficult exam - it's almost like a freebie at the end.

I only use Lisa's notes and the EC practice test ( I do review the yahoo groups for some information) . I have a little library on standby if needed. Most of the time I just read and review her notes. I have passed all the exams so far hehehe maybe I should not say that...My personal opinion is that Lisa's notes gives you all the facts you need. I have not ran into anything on these test that are not covered in her notes. I prefer to keep the text book for clarification rather than my main source of information. There is so much to cover and Lisa's notes condenses this down so I can focus on the main stuff and leave out all the other junk. Now others may not agree with this but okie dokie ..it is what has worked for me.

I think I probably would have passed using just Lisa's notes, but I don't think I would have gotten all the A's that I did. I'm a geeeeeek, I admit it! I have notes AND study guides AND textbooks. LOL!! I have to say that I agree about StudyGroup101's notes: they're more than notes -- they're more like study guides.

So any more opinions on which is better? I am looking to finish each remaining test in 2-4 weeks.

I only know about Lisa Arends guides. With them I have completed all but one of the concept test. I started in Late August and will complete on January 10th..So it has gone quickly for me. I have not used the other study guides .

I dunno ... they're both good! StudyGroup101 seems to be a little more in-depth and isn't really written in a "notes" format. Lisa's notes were great for driving home key points when I was reviewing right before the exam.

I ended up buying both! I guess I will use studygroup as my study guide and follow the notes after going through the study guide and before the test. Thanks everyone.

I had a terrible experience with my purchase. I got a blank CD and she told me that I had to pay to ship it back because it was beyond the exchange date. I bought the package deal so I hadn't looked at the CD before the exchange date. She says that people always think the CD is blank when it is not. But apparently I am competent enough to figure out how to read five CDs but not the last one. So she makes the customer pay and costs a huge time delay because of her own error of sending a blank CD.

Also, my wife is the nurse going through Excelsior and beware because she has found errors as she has worked through the material. My wife was valedictorian in her LVN school, became assistant director of nursing in two years as a nurse, and has also gotten all A's on all the exams she has taken thus far.

Lisa Arends is all I use. I have nothing but good things to say about her stuff. The only thing was with the last CD I bought it took about 6 days longer for shipping. This probably was on the error side of the snail mail service. Otherwise it is my preferred method of studying.
