Check out the Distance Learning board here: http://allnurses.com/forums/f125/

Lots of EC students there who can help. Good luck.

The practice tests helped me a lot, especially for the NC exams.

I also recommend the practice exams from EC. You get two exams with 100 questions each for $75. The exams also give you the rationale behind the correct, and incorrect answers. I would also recommend purchasing a study guide from eBay. You can get them used for almost every EC course. I know I wouldn't have been able to pass any of the EC exams without using a study guide. I need a more directed approach to learning than just having a course outline and textbook, and study guides provided that assistance and direction I needed. There are four or five different study guide companies, but you can usually find them used, for a heck of a lot less on eBay. Perhaps trying a different studying approach will help!

I am using the directed learning system through Rue. I know my learning style, and I cant just dowwnload an outline and go. I know there is a lot of debate about publishing companies, but it works for me. Got a B on my first exam. i know I didn't study enough for it because I thought it would be a cake walk. I found these test set up much like the boards. PM me if you have anymore questions/concerns.

If you're working on the NC exams, I went through Professional development systems for study guides. I got an A on all my tests without massive hours of studying. Well worth the $. As for the general ed. stuff, I have been taking them online through a local community college. I was suprised at how much easier they were than taking the class on campus.
