Excelsior testing question

I found psych, period, to be pretty easy.

I don't know about CLEP.

You can CLEP any time, anywhere, any course.

Whether Excelsior will accept it depends on Excelsior.

The school is always the best source of specific information. And if you can email your question and get an emailed answer, so much the better--you have documentation (which for me means, I can go find out what they really said--and who said it--as opposed to what I remember!)

Something that might be helpful is, apply to join the Yahoo group called nontradnurses. It was started about four years ago by an Excelsior student and now has 1600 or so members. Note files of all the nursing courses, plus some others, maybe you will find it helpful. Be sure to put in your reason for joining that you are (or are going to be, if that is the case) an Excelsior student. It will save you time and the moderator the trouble of emailing you and asking if you are a nursing student, which school, what program.... you get the picture!

You can CLEP before you enroll, but just make sure you are registered first. Your CLEP test will ask where you want the test score sent, and you need to be registered at EC first, but not enrolled.

You have to pay the registration fee .I would check with excelsior and make sure they will accept.I know they accept some Clep,but not all.Lifespan was not a real bad test,I took EC test.You do need to study.If you have the free content guide from EC,it is pretty precise as to the content you need to know for exam.I use it as my study guide.The workbook that went along with the textbook was great.

I CLEP'd algebra about 9 months before I enrolled with Excelsior.

To my knowledge, I didn't have to pay a special fee. If they require algebra within five years (as did my "brick and mortar" school earlier), they just transferred it in.

As always, I would call Excelsior College, get the name of the person you talked to, and find out what their policy is.

I have never had a problem with consistency with Excelsior, but sometimes people report different answers, that's the only reason I am suggesting that you document. (I use an email to myself and keep a designated file so I can always find my info.)
