Excelsior Reproductive exam

What is your take on Reproductive Excelsior exam?
Was it difficult?
Was there alot of questions on how the sperm meets the egg, ovulation period, and what not?
What about spermatogenises?
I'm sure there is a lot of situational questions?
What should I keep in mind?
What areas should I focus more on?

My test is coming up real soon!

Any info. helps, thanks!
-Lisa

Did you check the exam content guide to see what it covered? Sorry if that's an obvious answer, but that would be the first thing to do if you want to see if something specific such as what you listed is required learning for the exam. Also, the EC practice exams can help you focus, too. I know they cost extra, but it's less expensive than paying for the exam twice, no?

I have no idea about the FCCA -- I was under the old curriculum, so I didn't have to take it. But there is a description of the FCCA in the "Excelsior CollegeŽ Examinations Brochure," located here: https://www.excelsior.edu/Excelsior_...s_Brochure.pdf -- that's about all I know! There are a few people here who have taken the FCCA, like NC Girl RN, but she said elsewhere that the school prohibits students from discussing the exam content.

Hi Rosepn, I know this question isn't directed towards me, but I was curious as to know haw far are you into the program? Are you still taking the nursing concepts exams? If you are, I would only concentrate on completing the nursing concept exams and not worry about the FCCA and CPNE until you actually have to. Once you have completed all of the required exams, Excelsior will email you letting you know you are FCCA eligible. The FCCA is not difficult at all, and they will give a detailed explanation on how to fill out each section. When you're FCCA eligible, you're also CPNE eligible, they will send you a CPNE CD-Rom you can print out or look through on your computer detailing everything about the CPNE. So don't add extra stress on yourself until you are CPNE eligible. Good luck!

Lisa1980,

I took the exam last week. I passed with a B, but didn't do well on the preconception part. I think 5% of the questions were based on this. I did think there were a lot of situational questions. I posted on your last thread. I hope the info helps.

rosepn,

I do not remember having many med questions, but that's not to say you won't. I think you still need to go in fully prepared and expect the unexpected. Definitely be familiar with the vocabulary. I did notice that they use a lot of "term" words i.e. orchiopexy. Hope this helps.
