I am a LVN in California working at the Veterans hospital. I would like to ask what items did you use to study with.
I took Chronicity this past saturday and received a D, I was so upset because it was my first test and I feel that I was well prepared and knew the rationals.

Please advise. Thanks

That is correct. You have to have 21 of the 31 general education credits completed before being eligible for the FCCA and then the CPNE. For all of those interested, the information that I used to prepare for these exams are available on cd on Ebay. Once you go to ebay.com, type in Excelsior College exams and all the information and study guides that they have will pop up. I used the ones from the Nursing Concepts series. I think the CDs are like $25 but obviously well worth it. Keep in mind, though, these ARE NOT the recommended study materials by Excelsior College so if you have an issue with an exam grade, your argument will have no foundation since you are not using their recommended textbooks.

Yeah I've heard that cpne is a killer. Is it still a one on one single day ?

It's 2.5 days with a clipboard-wielding, MSN-prepared clinical examiner (CE) over your shoulder the whole time. I'd rather take the NCLEX five times than one more CPNE, ever!

That's awesome! Don't underestimate Chronicity though...phew; or LifeSpan 1 either. What are you using to study?

Although I learn stuff reading posts, some replys are very discouraging for me. How do you go so fast??Do you have kids, work full-time, have sickness yourself, aging parents that have to have assistance with things, 1 parent wound ^ dying after 1 1/2 yr. CA illness? I also had surgery myself few months ago. I keep @ it, but has took me already close to year & half & I haven't got to the nursing courses yet! Some of you must have more opportunities than me & the girls I know @ work that have went through the Excelsior program. Only 1 I know went very fast-less than a year to finish but she had prior credits.Maybe it's cause I'm 45+???

What materials did you use? I hope you purchased the practice exams. They're worth the money.
