Excelsior Anatomy & PHysiology

I am about to take my first excelsior a&p exam. Does anyone have any advice for me? I have only been studying the TCN material and Excelsior content outline.

i'm about to start studying for this one. i d/led the studygroup101 stuff for the test, and ordered an older version of the text that Excelsior recommends for 5 dollars! i hope to take the test in the next 2 months or so, I hope that is reasonable. good luck! how long did you study?

I have been studying A&P since late November. What textbook does Excelsior recommend? I have been following their content outline and using TCN modules as well as reading what I can find online. I will probably take some of Excelsior practice exams when I have the money. I wish I could find some free practice exams - a lot of them. I would feel better taking several quizzes or practice exams before taking original.

Good Luck and stay in touch

The recommended text is listed in the content outline. It's Martini's "Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology." The book can double as a door-stopper or speed bump. LOL. Good luck!! The exam is tough, but fair if you've studied.

Pay the $65 for the EC practice exams, seriously. Those things are great. They also can help you figure out which areas need more study/focus.

since November? i figured since I am fresh out of school I would only need to study for about a month or so. I actually felt that way about a couple of the exams, is that being too confident? I mean, when I study, I really study. But I can't see myself taking longer than a month or 2 to study for some of these modules.

I am also just beginning, but I chose microbiology first. Got my book (thanks EBAY!!) today. I've been looking at SG101 this weekend and now that I can start reading the text, I'm aiming on no more than 4-6 weeks. I'll get the practice test here in a week or so, gotta wait for a paycheck . I think if we just commit to it, and like others have said, confirm a test date, we should be fine. It may take a little longer for some of these subjects if it's been a while since seeing them in a classroom...good luck on A&P, I'm anxious to see how they go!!

My friend that is going through the Excelsior program with me, her roommate took the microbiology exam and passed on her first attempt. She followed the free content outline that excelsior has as well as using TCN module & CD from lisa arends on ebay.

My thought is that if I can pass the A&P exam on first try, I could do anything.

I am also waiting until 1st to purchase the text that Excelsior recommends for A&P.

Good luck everyone - and let's keep each other posted.

i bought the recommended text, just an older version. for 5 dolla! woot! hope it gets here soon! I'm ready to start studying. My main concern is how am I going to save up 895 for enrollment? In the meantime, shelling out 300+(each) for A and P, micro, the first nursing one, and the texts I plan on buying? sheesh. Good thing I expect a bonus in July.
We will succeed!!!! keep in touch ladies!

You have to do the payment plan, break it up into six installments. I think it's like $120 something a month. I have to take micro soon myself, I have to wait until after I take the CPNE though. Let me know how it goes. Good luck!
