Hi, sorry Im unable to answer your question about the CLEP maybe someone else can but I had a some questions about the EC Micro. Are you finding it difficult, can you tell me a little about the course. This is the first class that I will be taking out of the normal class room setting. How do they cover a lab. Thank for any info in advance.

The microbiology testing with Excelsior was very doable .... study their guide outline and I had Cliff Notes Review for Micro which simplified everything ....

Hi
Cliff notes you can obtain at any of the bookstores..... Barnes and Noble, Amazon.com or go to cliffnotes.com ..... to me after studying from the cliff notes it brought it all together .... this exam was easier than A&P.... I studied above and beyond the difficuty of this exam .... I would rate it 6/10 and rate A&P 9/10 ...hope this helps you....Veda

I wasn't aware that there was a CLEP for Microbiology. I can tell you from experience with the A&P exam from EC that it was a pretty tough exam but one that I was well prepared for. If you study the outline that EC gives you for micro you will be fine. Do some online searches for common micro related terms, you'll be surprised at how that helps. I will be preparing for that exam soon.

Good Luck

I did not do this class as a distance learner. We had to identify slides, so you might get some pictures but I imagine they will be the same as in your textbook. I would think the syllabus and objectives should guide you some.

There isn't a CLEP for Micro, but there is an EC exam for it. Note that there isn't a lab component. That's why I did the Micro at a trad school.

I took Micro and A&P thru Excelsior. I felt as though Micro was a little harder than A&P, so that just made me study harder. With Micro, you have to know the morphological characteristics, symptoms, treatments, etc of many diseases. It is detailed. I made a B on both exams. It is also helpful to do searches on the internet as mona b said. It is doable....Good luck
