EC Anatomy and Physiology for LPN to RN

Hi Linda!! Welcome to Allnurses, and the Distance Ed forum.

I did my A&P and Micro through EC -- they weren't bad. A&P is a big exam, just because it covers A&P I and A&P II. However, if you're going to go for any kind of advanced degree, you might want to consider taking the "real" class with labs -- some schools require that for RN-BSN or RN-MSN.

I'm wondering the same thing you are. I only have A&P and Micro to take for gen ed's so I think I will take those while i wait on the CPNE. A&P scares me!!

I took Micro and am now studying for A&P. If I had my 'druthers' I'd take in in a classroom. Since I am going through TCN (arghhhh) I have to use their curriculum. Micro was a struggle, hope A&P is a little easier.

I agree with others. Taking A&P and Micro through EC are fine if you want to just meet the requirement to graduate. They will not transfer to another college because it lacks the lab portion. I took Micro through EC to graduate and know that once I go further with my education, I may have to take it again. If you have time to take them at CC then I say go for it. But if its gonna hold you up for 4 months then I would just take it through EC and cross that bridge in the future if you decide to go higher. Micro was hard but some how I managed to pass with studying for 3 weeks. Good luck!

You know before I started studying for my CPNE I thought "how tough could it be" Now that I'm preparing I couldn't imagine trying to study for another class on top of this. So rethink about taking classes while you are waiting. I only had 4 months and I've been busy, and I work as most of you do probably. Melissa

Just a lil FYI for you! Drexel University does take EC Micro and A+P even though there is no lab credit. I believe you just have to take an extra sci like Pathophys or an equivalent. The Drexel Rn to Bsn is online and accredited. This is the school i hope to go to once im done with my EC ASN program.....

I work a VA Hospital not listed on the discount list on there web page

I have 12 credits from Mercer County College
in health science it was suppose to _ A&P I + A&P II, Chemistry 101,Biochem 101 and Micro 101 16 credits but you can see it was 12 credits with a 4 Hours labs
It does transfer to some colleges like Thomas Edisons Middle State Regional
