Re: CPNE Study Help
Pretty much the only study material you need is the study guide, and they will give that to you free on a CD, or you can print it out or read it online. I did order the flash cards for $14, but Rob's mnemonics really cover everything as long as you know your critical elements.
Rob's video is only $40, a pittance compared to what you have paid so far

He deserves every penny--I don't know if I could have faced this test without his video and mnemonics. It gave me a lot more confidence about what I was getting into.
There are documentation and care plan conferences you can pay for, but for myself, all I did was read the EPN board a bit, and start writing, then emailing them to Dr. A., who will correct them for you for free, my favorite price. She's wonderful. She will also address any questions you have about the study guide.
There are many excellent videos on Youtube.com about the CPNE. I particularly recommend the series by vanessamenan and ed4nurses. They are also free.
There is some excellent stuff on cpnex.blogspot.com. There are extra patient scenarios and some great videos, and other stuff I just haven't made it to yet. It's also free.
I bought my nursing fundamentals book and physiology book, and also a clinical skills book, on Amazon.com for a dollar apiece. That's about 5 bucks apiece with shipping. They are older editions, but ya know, lung assessment just doesn't change that much.
I hope that gives you a good running start. If there's anything else you need help with, just ask--somebody on here will know the answer
Happy studying!
