CPNE sites

by Bigmama

Hello all!

I am waiting on my packet of info from Excelsior. I am curious, does anyone know of any CPNE sites in Texas? Preferably San Antonio or Austin?

Thanks in advance!

Hi!

Last I heard, there are 13 CPNE sites, and the only one in Texas is in Plano (they call it Dallas, though).

Go to the yahoo group called "nontradnurses" and read the narratives about people's CPNE experiences.

This may not be the time to look for something close to come or cheap to get to, necessarily.

One piece of advice, and I know you did not ask: take the Excelsior College CPNE and Skills workshops. They are run by people who a have actually administered the CPNE, they know exactly what it wil be like and you will probably not make a better investment in your nursing future at this point. I felt read, probably could've passed, but was very grateful I took the workshops.

There's one in Irving in January or February. Call the LEARN office at Excelsior for details.

Good luck~

Default CPNE wait
I took my last NC exam on 10/15. Does anyone know the usual wait after completing the last exam to when you receive your packet? I'm anxious and yet want to complete it!

You could havew a wait anywhere from 3 months to 6 months. Your best bet is to request to be put on the "Cancellation List." Then, if someone cancels, the CPNE people will call you and offer you their slot.

Thanks lgflamini! That is what I've been hearing. I just completed my NC exams and only have A&P and Soc. to finish all prereq's. I was also trying to decide whether or not to take a traveling nurse position in between time, which sounds like I may have the time!
Thanks Again!
Tim
