CPNE Help Please!!

Hey-
I'm taking the Excelsior college CPNE pretty darn soon and I was wondering if anyone out there has recently attended the CPNE- (Chambersburg anyone...anyone...) Any useful info to offer would be great. Also- What is the grid I keep hearing so much about. Can anyone help me out- maybe send me one?? Thank so much.

If you go to the EPN board, under EPN journals. There was a lady, Tonya I believe, who wrote a journal about her experience at Chambersburg.

If you go to your MYEC page at Excelsior, Scroll down on the right hand side you'll see " Electronic Peer Network" Click on that. Then on the Left hand side Click on "Academic Discussion Boards ". Then Click on " Nursing Discussion Boards " Then click on Associate Degree Level Nursing You'll find links to cpne or the nursing courses message boards. On the Cpne You'll find all the info you need about grids and everything else about the CPNE.

Do yourself a favor and visit the EPN like mentioned above. I don't think I could have passed the CPNE without that board. Its GREAT!

When is your CPNE?
You dont have a grid?????
You haven't sifted through the EPN????

I dont think I could have passed without the EPN and i know I would not have passed without the grid...no doubt about it...

A grid is simply a piece of paper divided into even sections say 12 boxes or so (I cant remember how mine was set up) and you put your mnemonics in these boxes according to the flow of your CPNE PCS. You cannot fill this out until the PCS begins so you must have all the mnemonics memorized...
There is all kinds of examples online however, it makes a difference during your PCS on how your grid is set up....because it is your road map that you will follow through the whole PCS....


Ok do you have ALL your mnemonics memorized...?????

Jill, definitely visit the EPN! Also, you can download Ivan's excellent study guide here:

Many of us here are "CPNE survivors." You can do this!! And get on the EPN, ASAP (yes, I'm saying it twice, it's that important!!). When do you go?

My date is August 21-23rd. I've been memorizing mneumonics I've found online. I just want to make sure that I am as prepared as possible.

Yeah- (thanks to everyone) I have found the EPN- I'm trying to sift my way through it all- There are a lot of posts to work through!! I feel like I'm starting to make some headway though. I was really nervous about the PCS's and now my terror is starting to shift to documentation I think.... It will always be something I fear.
