I was looking for my husband who wants to go to nursing school. I think its a scam and I won't be having him go for it. I am planning on doing my RN-BSN from Indian weslyan online.

I'm calling shenanigans on that school. The first clue is that it's a .com, not a .edu. And when the same company owns the accreditation website as owns the "university" site, it's doubly suspect:

http://www.networksolutions.com/whoi...university.com
http://www.networksolutions.com/whoi...reditation.org

They created the sites within a day of each other, too. Heh. I love checking WHOIS data on these sites -- it's always very telling.

CRTtoRN, I've heard very good things about Indiana Wesleyan's program. I seriously considered them, but they want people to have at least a year of experience, and I didn't want to wait to start my RN-BSN -- I had $3K in tuition money I wanted to use before the end of 2008! In any case, good luck with your BSN program!!

If a nursing program isn't listed on the NLN or CCNE website I would never consider it.

RUN AWAY!!! I decided to have a little fun with them, and the first thing out of "Glen Smith's" fingers was: "Ready to enroll?"

To which I responded, "Absolutely not, without some more information. Tell me about your instructor's credentials and how the classes are structured"

They promptly proceeded to disconnect.

You don't want your education from anyplace that doesn't have a strong clinical component, anyway...or you will be LOST LOST LOST when it comes to actual patient care.

Good luck.

Matter for what? State BONs don't care about BSN-completion programs for licensure purposes; they are only concerned with where you got your original, "basic" nursing education leading to licensure, and completing a BSN later on doesn't affect your license at all. However, if you ever want to go to graduate school, nearly all graduate programs require that you have a BSN from an NLN accredited program.

I agree the program sounds like a scam. I would "run, not walk" away from them.

I know this post is al little old, but I did research this school through the Michigan state boards. Here is what I found.

If your school is listed on the non-accredited universities and colleges on the Civil Service website, the Michigan Board of Nursing will not accept a nursing degree from that institution for licensure: http://www.michigan.gov/documents/Non-accreditedSchools_78090_7.pdf

This school is listed ont this list. So, you will not be able to take the NCLEX exam if you go through this school.(at least here in Michigan.

Looks like it's in the Philippines, not the U.S.
