Default Re: Chemistry Clep
Hi,

I just signed up to answer this question. I had no chemistry background and decided to take the test so i studied for no more than 5 weeks. i picked up two chemistry books, one beginner and one college classroom text, and read them through the topics covered in the clep manual, which i also bought. i also ordered petersons 3 chemistry clep tests online. i ended up getting a 60, but my college only would give me credit for one semester of chemistry.

however, i would point out that it seems they give the same test and dont change it, so if u find someone whos recently taken it, they can give u an idea of the questions. however, i took mine months ago and dont remember a single one, i blocked out that bad memory. the biggest thing i noticed is that there were so many lab questions and that was not covered in any text i read, the clep manual questions and the 3 peterson tests didnt have a single one.

make sure u learn as much as u can about lab procedures. i mean like 20 out of 75 were lab questions, and it seemed simple but i had no lab experience whatsoever so they were all guesses. the test isnt hard, u can learn all that on your own, give urself 8 weeks and u should be prime, u can do it in 4 with no chemistry background even. good luck anyone who reads this. go for it cuz u have nothing to lose, if u dont pass u will get an easy A when u sign up for chem.
