It makes me mad the news is saying that the nurse was careless and that is why she got it. My guess is there is more to this disease than what is common knowledge. Maybe a different strain?

Of course they're saying the worker was careless. They're still telling us that everything is under control and that it's purely contact spread. To say anything other than worker carelessness would undermine what they've said before.

I just have a hard time believing anybody would be careless with EBOLA! Really? I'm not even careless with C Diff...

I want to say something about "worker carelessness." Please tell me if you think the same or not. I believe no matter WHAT high level of caution we're practicing, and PPE we're wearing and removing, this is STILL a human endeavor, and therefore fallible.

Exactly! But the media is reporting, and spokespeople are saying, she broke protocol. I'm hearing careless thrown around. Um? I wonder if anybody reporting knows what PPE even is? How it comes on and off? How easy it could be to remove it and somehow slightly brush skin without even realizing you have done it. We do our best but we are humans not robots.

All they had her wear and are going to tell us to wear are surgical masks and face shields! Everyone else wears respirators and duct tapes seals closed! Even the ambulance medics who brought Dr Brantly in...

I'm interested in what the PPE looks like. And who was watching her so intently to know that it was a breach in protocol. So do they know the exact moment that she contracted it...I think not.

He said the unidentified employee had been interviewed and could not

that allowed the infection to spread, he said.

The worker became infected

despite wearing full protective gear while treating Duncan,

who died on Wednesday from the disease, according to hospital officials...

Dr. Daniel Varga of Texas Health Resources, which owns the hospital, said that

the worker wore a gown, gloves, and surgical mask

when providing care to Duncan.

Soooo that is 'full protection' against Ebola?!?

Okay, I know I shouldn't be scared. The smart piece of me knows better, and yet I still am. She was wearing PPE. Brantley was wearing PPE. I feel a little sick and scared down deep in the pit of my stomach.
