Time-management or Mis-management...

  1. Recently, a friend told me her center has made schedule changes that only allow them 15 minutes to set-up for the day. I was floored. Is it possible to safely string 3-4 machines, prepare meds and set-up the pod in that amount of time?

Can anyone here shed some light on this? If you are able to set-up a pod and have the first patient on in 15 minutes, please share your process.

Safely? No. But if you skip the nursing assessment, don't send your machine through test and don't use the phoenix meter you just might make it.

Chisca, those were my exact thoughts. Setting up for the first shift shouldn't happen in 15 minutes. If someone at my clinic did it, I would be very wary of their pod. All the things that have to happen before the first use of the day--such haste is dangerous.
