MMmmmm...ok...interviewed for a dialysis position a little over a month ago..between the interview and today I was verbally offered the position based on the usual..background, drug screen, color blind test...have done all those on 3 separate occasions and my own expense of driving 90 miles to do so...and now..nothing. No return call, no return email asking where I am in the hiring process. I have no concern about any of the tests so I know it's not that...the strange thing is the position is posted as of today! I have no idea what to think..I have tried to contact the hiring manager again but he is simply not responding. So..I guess he changed his mind and just didn't tell me. Good thing I have a back up job......

Maybe there is another position, in addition to the one you interviewed for. The turn over rate in dialysis is very high.

The hiring process for the large dialysis companies can be very long.

I have never heard of getting the testing done at ones own expense though???? or was it the mileage that you was addressing?

Yes, I meant the mileage..I didn't think/expect to be reimbursed..I know its part of the hiring process but I really am at a loss as to why I have heard nothing at all. I am not going to call or email again. I hope you are right and it's just the fact its a large company (over all not this particular clinic). It just seems like almost a month to get this going is a long time...I thought background checks came back in a few days. Thank you responding. Gives me a little hope that maybe I'm over reacting to the silence from their end. :)

I know that the larger companies take months for the entire process.

Maybe the manager/administrator is working the floor and is not able to answer calls/emails because he is covering for the unfilled position!

I would be patient a little longer, dialysis companies can be busy they are hiring and training lots of techs and RN's.

If it is one of the bigger companies why not contact the recruitment person, they may have more information?

Maybe the manager is on vacation

I guess it depends on how fast the position needs to be filled and what company too. I just started in dialysis a little over 6 months ago. I was hired within hours of my interview but the background check/reference check stuff took a few weeks. I say just continue with your day to day stuff and you never know if they will call you out of the blue when you least expect it if that is what you really want to do.
