I have hemodialysis experience however need info for peritoneal dialysis. Does anyone know if gentamycin is typically given intraperitoneal for peritonitis? I know that vancomycin is often used but don't know if gent is used intraperitoneal Help.

Our protocal is for 80mg Gent IP and 2 Gram Vanco IP load (which can be mixed in the same bag just not the same syringe) then Gent 40mg IP for 14 days with a gent level on the third day. We usually see it clear up in the first few days. If it doesn't I talk with our ID MD about some more Vanco either IV or IP
