Moving On To Expanded(Nocturnal) Treatments at Indiana University

I will be leaving Davita and moving on to extended(Nocturnal) treatments at Indiana University in Indianapolis, which is not that far from my home. IU in Indy has the largest NxStage program in the United States. My Nephrologist thought it was a great idea and said he was happy for me. For the record, my Nephrologist and the Chief Medical Officer at Davita are very pro-extended treatments and they are excellent physicians. In fact, when I asked why the extended treatments were not being used, the Chief Medical Officer said it was "Political B.S." Honestly, he and I could not agree more with that statement. Davita is overruling the orders of the physicians, yes, that statement is very, very true. My Nephrologist said that IU has some very, very smart physicians, that is a frightening statement, he is one sharp cat. I love my Nephrologist and his Nurse practioner, along with the staff, they are truly great people!

To be honest, Davita does have some Nursing people, who are outstanding and they provide superior care. If I were sick in the hospital, I would be so happy to have them as my Nurse. If you have someone in Cincinnati, Ohio, and they need a superior Nephrologist or Nephrologists, I have some names that will be outstanding.

Yet, to survive in the long term, Nocturnal dialysis is the best treatment that the medical establishment can offer, I would totally agree with that statement, as you can tell by my post.

I am attempting to decipher the question or purpose behind the post. Was this a recommendation, an update of career transition, or are you receiving treatment? Pardon me for my ignorance, but the OP seems incomplete or confusing.

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

The OP is a hemodialysis patient who is updating those of us who frequent the dialysis forum as to his new treatment modaiity.

Thanks for the clarification. I was reading and thinking to myself, this seems personally reflective and then at times suggestive.

Well, best of luck to you OP!

Thanks, the purpose of the post it is my belief that as many dialysis patients should be on Nocturnal Dialysis as possible because it would eliminate alot of problems and issues, between patients and staff. :)
