Info on Davita!

I'd like to hear any feedback/advice from anyone who is employed by and familiar with RN opportunities with Davita (San Francisco, to be exact)! I'm specifically interested in the roles of Clinical Coordinator and Hemodialysis RN's. I have 2+ years of skilled nursing/rehab hospital nursing experience, occupational health/outreach RN experience (as a federal contractor), 5 month externship in telemetry and pre RN (and student RN) experience in emergency departments! Davita sounds like they foster a very professional and healthy work place culture and that is something that attracts me to them as a company! I'm also excited by the opportunity to work with renal/dialysis patients. Any input from those currently with Davita in either of the above roles? I appreciate any and all opinions & feedback!

I'm an LPN/LVN for Davita. In my clinic, the people in my team are great to work with.

The patients are ok too. Benefits are good only after you are with them for 60 days.

Bonuses 3 times a year I heard but I haven't had one yet. New to dialysis but they hired me without experience. I'm on training that runs for 12 weeks. The whole experience really depends on your Facility Admin (FA) its either she will give u the best or nightmare of experience in Davita.

I did hemodialysis acutes for davita for awhile. Solid company, pays well, lots of opportunity for advancement. BUT except very long hours---I worked 18-22 hour days sometimes and trust me I did NOT want to. It's so so dependent on your team. They make it or break it.

I also felt their orientation was quite good and well organized, but ultimately I chose to leave after 8 months for a job 5 minutes from home in an area I was more interested in.

Oh yea and I felt like you could really see the differences in how much money for-profit healthcare has. For example: davita orders lunch and it's like "hey what would you all like from panera?" But working in a hospital you're lucky to get a free pencil once a year.

Also davita sent me on two trips while I worked for them---everything was paid for. They also covered mileage, anything extra I needed for work, cell phone bill, etc.
