Fresenius Training

  1. 0
    Hi All!

I just got hired by Fresenius as a new grad RN (I have less than 1 yr experience), and start my training mid July...

    I was wondering
    1. what your experiences were with classroom training? Do you recommend bringing anything?
    2. if you had to travel (my training is 3 hours away, and fresenius is paying for hotel)
    3. What your starting pay was?
    4. Were you offered benefits? If so, did you decline, was there any compensation?

Any other input would be great! Thank you!!

I worked for a different company but in my opinion, they're all pretty similar. I would recommend bringing a sweater to the training! Those classes are always freezing. If you like notes, you may want to bring something. I had to write down step by step instructions on some technical tasks. I did not travel for training but I met some people who worked for Davita that traveled a long distance for their classroom training. Starting pay depends on your state and city. I would expect at least $25 on average, but it is highly veritable. And if you decline health and life insurance you could maybe ask for 2 dollars more per hour at least. What other benefits would you decline? 401k? PTO? ESB? I wouldn't recommend declining those. I hope this helps a little!

Congrats on the new job! I do not work for Fresenius but I believe their 401k does matching. It would be worth it to contribute to their 401k especially if Fresenius matches a certain percentage of your salary. Before you know it 1 year turns into 2 then 5 years of working for the same company goes by quickly. As far as classroom suggestions, I have a friend who records her nursing classes so she can review later. I guess it all depends on how well you learn certain things.

It depends on your trainer. They will provide with a 3 ring binder on all the information that you can take notes on. If your trainer is good then you will be fine. Our water training was lacking but that was due to the trainer. Just communicate openly with your manager and get the training that you need. It's several weeks and just make sure to communicate with your preceptor also.
