hi everyone =)

i'm a new hemodialysis nurse here in the philippines. i just came from ICU department and have just been crosstrained to hemodialysis. thing is, i am anxious. i've been given the unit overview and how the machine works generally. so i was wondering if anyone can help me out here on where i can get resources for my new unit. i really want to optimize my stay and be the best for my patients. thanks!

Congratulations on accepting another challenging yet rewarding field in nursing! I used to work in the L&D dept and got transferred to dialysis. It's not really that hard. Just get yourself acquianted with the machines and have confidence in yourself. Dialysis is very routine granting that none of your pts. code! Have presence of mind andaybe review on the different pt. reactions and that way you'll know what to do.

thanks for the encouragement. it is a challenging unit especially with familiarizing and being techie about the machines. but of course my pts are top priority. i'll take your advice and be really keen on observing my pts and their reactions to the machines during dialysis.
