Dialysis Facility Survey/Inspection reports

Hello All:

Just wondering how many of you have had the opportunity to read you facility's survey report that is conducted by the state. The survey, of course, is suppose to be every three years, per CMS, however, many states have not been able to do so.. e.g. Calif, Texas and probably many, many more. .. I am also wondering your opinion of your facility's survey. Thanks,

p.s. many nurses have told me that they have not read the survey and their facility does not allow such.. they just tell staff (technicians, especially) what they need to do e.g. plan of corrective action. But, nurses have a right to read the survey and afterall it is public --- u just have to request copy from the state survey agency...

This information is available to the public on the internet - you can find the department of health inspections online around 30-45 days after the survey - it will list all the deficiencies that were found.

Tish, can you share the link. I am aware that there are only a few states, to recall, ie PA, I think, that post this information,, maybe Texas.. . But, generally these surveys are NOT posted.

When a facility fails to show us, nurses, the inspection report, then one must ask WHY, especially if the nurse can obtain through the state via requesting copy to be send to them. I would be interested in knowing what state you are talking about that posts surveys. Thanks
