type I diabetes mellitus

I'm a nursing student and I need help for this assignment:
A male client with type I DM who was admitted with an ulcer on the bottom of the foot that is not healing. The cl. injured the foot two weeks prior to admission. Client VS: 102F, 106, 24, 128/90. The wound has purulent drainage measuring approx. 7cm. and the foot is swollen and warm to touch.
1. What diagnostic tests are likely to be ordered for this client?
2. What nursing diagnoses may be applicable for this cl?
3. Describe the body's defense mechanism initiated in response to injury.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks a lot guys...

we generally do not help with homework on this site. I will say that you need to think about what is going on with the client. How is he feeling? What do the VS tell you? What signs and sx are you looking for? How can the MD tell if the client needs medication or procedures? What does purulent drainage mean and what do you do about it? Good luck!
