Im a LPN student and while we were talking about the endocrine system and how iodine is necessary for the production of T3 and T4, if someone has a Iodine allergy would they be predispositioned for issues with their thyroid? I asked my instructor and she was unsure. If any one has any advice or information about this please let me know!

For a lot of people with iodine allergies, it's an iodine-containing protein they're actually allergic to, not iodine itself, so it would have no effect on thyroid function.
