more than half state staff laid off

I work for a state DDD, yesterday I and about 1/2 of the staff were laid off. It seems that the man in charge of DDD in this state has decided to get rid of RN's. The providers have had the nurse consultants for years, since the state facility was closed and group homes were established. I don't know what they will do exactly, maybe I will hear some of the stories. Meanwhile I am trying to think of what I can do, have bad arthritis.

I am so sorry. what state do you work in?
I know that MA has been making huge budget cuts...and it always seems to happen to those who need help the most!
