McLaughlin transcript on autism

by mercyteapot Premium Member

I especially thought the info about the coal burning plant was interesting. Having grown up in coal mining country, I have always wondered if that played some role in my son's autism. You have to believe that black clouds of smoke just plain old aren't real good for any of the body's systems.

Interesting, there also have been many genetic studies, and my youngest son was diagnosed last year and now it looks like my three year old niece is also going to be diagnosed. There also have been studies done with rats were they were in injected with the flu while pregnant and then the offspring where examined and found to have less prjunkie brain cells similar to that of people while autism. I looked to provide the link, whoever if was for a term paper I wrote last year and found the article through my schools database and I didn't keep the address.

That's interesting, ivana, because I had a mild case of the flu whilst expecting. BTW, my son has two cousins that also have autism (of the 4 brothers in that family, 3 of them have kids with autism. And the son of the other brother doesn't have autism but he sure has some sort of issue.)
