contract RN for DD facility- qualifications?

Hi everyone,

I am a new grad working full time in telemetry at a hospital. I been offered a job with the non profit agency I worked for during nursing school as a contract RN. I would delegate med administration and teach, and do assessments on 4 residents a week. I would love to do this, does anyone have any advice etc? How about salary for this? Thanks in advance for any help! Becky

We make $15.25/hour to pass meds, and I think the RN that does what you're being offered makes around $18/hour.

When you teach the classes, make sure you have staff that are conscientious about passing meds. Some staff aren't serious about it and that leads to too many errors.

I work for a company that owns an assisted living & a DD group home (actually 10 of them). My salary is 18.25/hr, but I believe I'm the highest paid LVN there. I know the RN there makes like 27/hr. She is in charge of 4DD group homes though. We live in southern california, riverside county.

I make 21.20 per hour doing direct care in a guoup home caring for 8 ladies with DD and medical complication that range from diabetes to seizure disorders. This salary is considered low in this area. Our main competitor offers more.
