Flash Cards. For rote memorization, flash cards do the trick. With meds, keep it simple...focus on one aspect of the medication at a time. For example, if working with inotropes and pressors, focus just on alpha, beta, dopa, or vaso activity. Then make new cards with their onset, duration, and half-life. And so on. Focus on the most commonly used medications where you'll be working, otherwise you'll put your brain into overload. Also remember that there's a pharmacist on your floor or in your area for a reason! :-)
