Med Surg I in ICU

  1. 0 Ok, sorry if there is already a thread about this butI haven't seen one ...

I'm in an 11 month accelerated BSN program and I start my first Med Surg clinical next week in an ICU.

I've worked EMS and ED previously, so I've seen a lot, but I'm just wondering if anyone has any insight as to what I should expect that I maybe haven't dealt with before.

If it helps, i went from pro ski patroller (95% trauma) to EMS to ED ... I won't lie, I'm a trauma junkie and I know how to deal with emergency situations, trauma and otherwise, but I'm a little apprehensive about the ICU ... I have plenty of friends who work in ICUs, but like I said, it's my first real clinical and I'm a little nervous.

    Any advice?
