Does anyone have any actual advice on how difficult the CCRN is? Did you pass it on the first try or does it usually take several? How did the Pass CCRN questions on the CD compare to the actual test? Was it mostly Cardiac stuff? I am supposed to take the test on Wed. Thanks!!!

Check the ICU forums, there are lots of threads on this topic. If you don't know the content of the exam you haven't studied enough, I can tell you that, because the AACN specifically spells out exactly what percentage of the total questions there are in specific subject areas.

I have been certified for 6 years and the test was the hardest multiple choice exam I have ever taken. It is about 100x harder than boards. I have heard that the recent edition of the exam is "dumbed down" -- they have more "synergy" questions (questions on basic ICU nursing practice) -- 20% as opposed to the 10% that it was when I took it.
