Where are the real prisons located?

I have worked at 2 different prisons and it seems that both of those prisons were extremely inmate friendly. Does anyone know if there are any prisons where inmates are treated like inmates?
I don't like to coddle and kiss-up to inmates. Thanks

Nurse Real prisons
Thanks Ima. I'm glad to hear that there is a real prison in existence. Unfortunately, I get sick in hot weather so I'm afraid Texas is not for me. Thanks again

Stay away from BOP and other federal facilities. The pay is good, but they have more rights than my staff and are not required to work.

NM babies their inmates and gives them whatever they want.
TX - State inmates are treated as inmates and are usually required to work.

I'm not sure about some of the other states, but I have worked iwth TX and NM for several years.

Hope this helps!

Nurse Real prisons
Thanks CMoore for telling me about the bureau of prisons, federal facilities and new mexico. I always wondered about those prisons.
Texas sounds like it is the only place that has real prisons. Is there anywhere in Texas where the weather is cold? I would love to work in a real prison. Thanks so much for your kind assistance.
I am so tired of having to kiss-up to inmates.

I don't know of anyplace COLD in Texas, but much better than South Texas. South Texas is hot and humid most of the year, not as hot in the winter, but usually no snow.

You might check out Amarillo. They are only 2 hrs North of Lubbock and have LOTS of TDCJ units around them. They actually have snow throughout the winter and are only 3 to 4 hours from Santa Fe if you want some real snow. I'm not sure how bad their summers are though.

I live in Lubbock. We are usually under 100 in the summer without any humidity. We have a good storm season from about March til June. We are getting warmer here than usual and less snow than usual.

It's a good place to work with alot of little prisons/jails in the outlying communities.

Arizona has prisons where inmates are thoroughly abused. I think there's even one in a cooler part of Arizona. Could be ideal for a caregiver like yourself.

Wow! Thanks Aurora! Arizona sounds great! You're absolutely right-it certainly does sound like the ideal job for me! Is my favorite sheriff still in Maricopa County? I quess I will check out the Flagstaff area-I heard that was the cooler part of Arizona. Thanks so much Aurora

The jails and prisons in Amarillo are laying off nurses. I have a good friend who works at one facility there. They just got rid of their entire third shift. They only have medical 2/3 of the time now. If there is an emergency after hours, they actually call 911. EMS is escorted to the prisoner by the corrections officers.
