Simply put, Correctional Nursing is nursing care provided to patients who are in custody in jails (county or city) or in prison.

I would rather do correctional nursing than ANY other, The hospitals are too understaffed, you put your license on the line every day, this is a wonderful change. Very exciting, interresting, and still keps your skills up-you have to think for yourself, be resourceful, and very firm, kindness is mistaken for weakness, and the inmates will eat you alive. It is not a place for those who cringe every time they hear a 4 letter word, or see a cockraoch
