Scrubs or Business-casual outfit for corrections interview?

Hello, all:

I have an interview coming up at a correctional facility. For those who are working corrections now, what did you wear to your interview: scrubs or business-casual attire? I have read on some internet sites that wearing scrubs is ok as long as they are new/clean/professional. What do you think?

Thanks for your feedback,

Jeanne

I wore a black suit with a white cami underneath. I would not wear scrubs, IMO.

Business-casual wear is appropriate. I worked corrections for a while and the nurses didn't wear scrubs, they wore regular clothes. Good Luck!!

You should wear business attire for any interview, whether it is for corrections or not. First impressions are very important. I have sat on interview panels before and am always impressed if someone took time with their appearance.

Just got hired in CT. Wore a suite with a cami underneath to my interview. I wrote a quick thank you note afterwards.

I would never wear a uniform to an interview in any kind of healthcare setting. Even if I were coming to the interview straight from work (which I've done at different times), I would bring street clothes with me to work and change before I left for the interview.

I'm an Health Services Administrator working in a detention facility in Laredo Texas and have interviewed many nurses in my correctional health care expierence. I had nurses come in scrubs and business the best way to go is business. There are 2 many colors in scrubs to deal with you might wear a color that represents an inmate and that would be bad.

Scrubs are never appropriate for an interview unless you are going on your lunch break and have informed the interviewer ahead of time.

I probably would have elected to go with the suit and not business casual.
