Nursing the Incarcerated

by COCFCI

I have recently left the federal prison system (as a nurse, employee) I am working on an inservice for local hospitals that care for inmates that are transported to their facilities. I am looking for ideas for content. I have my experience, but would like the input of others that work in this challenging field. Either Email them too me directly or post them here for others to view. Your assistance is much appreciated. Please put correctional nursing in the subject of any email.

I am a Corrections RN. The first thing to deal with is a comprimise between medicine and security. The safety of the staff comes first.
Best of luck.
