Are Maximum security officers different from the other officers?

How would you say officers in maximum security areas any different from those in the rest of the prison? Are they more highly trained? More physically fit? Carry more protective devices? etc

All of our guys are trained the same. When they are in the max security area they are obviosly aware of the limitations. For example meds and chemsticks through the door slot only. If I have to enter the cell the im is secured first. Safety, safety, safety! And I always feel very well protected.....whatever the situation the main concern is for safety. Not all of our guys Start out in max security so the potential for a problem is present anywhere....if you don't think so then you may be the one putting yourself or officer at unnecessary risk. As far as what they carry most all are certified to carry tazer and oc, etc
