Help! Corrections nursing requirements

Hello fellow nurses. I am a new poster to this site. I have been looking through some of the posts and subjects in the past and noticed that there are a number of corrections nurses. I am interested in pursuing this line of health care as an R.N. and would really appreciate any information about how to get into the profession. Some questions would be: What does the board/interviewers look for in a candidate? What are some extra qualifications if any for a prospective nursing employee with prisons? What is the interview like (hard/easy/certain questions, etc?) What is the security like for nurses in a prison? Do they want a fresh out of college nurse, or someone with acute, emergency, trauma experience? I will be looking to work for the state of California corrections department.
