Considering the correctional nursing specialty

Hi,

I have been an RN for 10 years in labor and delivery. I am feeling very burnt out and in need of a change and new challenge. I know correctional nursing at a male facility seems on the opposite spectrum, but I have the opportunity to apply for a job at the federal medical center and it seems very intriguing. I believe that I have learned many things in labor and delivery that can be applied to correctional patients as well, I just want to know more about how correctional nurses enjoy their work and what makes them stay. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
