Ready to Apply CT Community Colleges- Nursing Program 2011

U.S.A. Connecticut

Published

Hello all,

It's almost that time of year again! I'm applying to the 2011 class which the application period begins this November 1st. We have two months to prepare our applications! Anyone else applying? I've seen the support the last year's class has with this sort of thread and I figured there should be one started for 2011 applicants. What is your TEAS score? GPA? A&P I grade? What were the averages that the 2010 applicants had and they are now starting the fall 2010 program?? Good luck!!!

Got into NVCC for the fall!:yeah:

So happy for you!!!

Matt,

Is this just for Gateway? I thought a fellow student told me she had a math test at CCC the first week last fall?

Hi everyone,

This is what I have found out to date about CCC Fall 2011 program, straight from the secretary of the counselor's office at Capital.

NUR101 - classes will be held on Mon and Fri from 9-11 am on the 11th floor in the main auditorium. 8/31 - 12/19

The first 7 weeks of clinicals will actually be spent in the lab. It will be on T+W from 8-3 p.m.

Second half of clinicals with be on any two of the following days: T/W/TH from 7-3:30 p.m. or 2:30-10:30 p.m.

If you are not assigned a mid week shift then you will assigned the following shift:

Sat AND Sun from 7-3:30 p.m.

I was informed that we will be given a particular shift, we will not be able to choose. I'm not sure if we will be afforded the opportunity to switch with anyone. If anyone has any insight on this that would be great.

Thanks for the info!

So since the first day of class is on a Wed, does that mean we'll have clinical (lab) the very first day?.. or do they wait until the Fri lecture to start the program?

do all the community colleges assign weekend clinicals? i work weekends so i can go to school during the week! there is no way i can change my shift nor quit my job.

I'm not sure as I only inquired about Capital. I'm sure we will find out more at our orientation.

Thanks for the info!

I asked the receptionist that exact question and she wasn't sure, she only said we would know more come our orientation. I did ask to speak with **** but he was with a student.

Thanks for your response. I am going to an info session in may. I like the idea that it is accelereated. Is class / clinicals only three days a week?

We have lecture on tuesday from 5-930 and Lab (clinical) from 230-930 on friday and saturday. They extend it in the summer 4-930 and 2-1030 i believe

Thanks!

Hi everyone!

A few of us have picked a date for a meet and greet before our orientation on June 17th at Capital.

We will be meeting at Panera in Enfield, CT on Monday evening, May 2, 2011 at 6 p.m. If you take 91 (N or S) it is exit 48 - directly off the exit - you will see the Enfield Square. When facing the mall Panera will be dead ahead at the main entrance to the left of Target.

I'm sure we will recognize each other by the smiles on our faces! We look forward to meeting everyone, see you soon!

Off topic but I LOVE your image up above! haha :)

JaRoJoCT,

I wanted to send you a message, but it won't go through. I was wondering if you might be interested in meeting up before orientation & possibly carpooling once in a while? Our commute is looking less appealing with gas at $4/gallon :( You can email me at [email protected] if that's easier.
