Hi all. I am in the process of applying to the Hospital of Central Connecticut. The hospital is not unionized and on the application it asks for desired compensation. I don't know how accurate it is, but Glassdoor shows the RN range at $32/hour. Does anyone have any other information as to what the hospital's range is? I don't want to go too high where they won't even consider the application but I also don't want to go too low and be working for $5 less per hour than other new grads. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Not sure about the hospital in question, but many hospitals have a tiered set of compensation based on experience, eg 0-2 years gets x rate, 2-5 years gets y rate which is a little higher, etc. I would be surprised if there wasn't at least a base new grad rate there.
I believe starting salary at Hartford Hospital for new grads is 29.50 (as they own HOCC I would say this would be similar).
You would get night/weekend differential on top of that. And the above commenter is right, HH recently rolled out a tiered system so I'm sure their other facilities will be following suit.
