Goodwin College questions...

Hi there,

I have a few questions about Goodwin College.

Does their 2-year degree program include your pre-reqs? Or are the pre-reqs not included in the 2-year degree program for nursing?

I was looking at the ADN class schedule and I thought 5 semesters is more than 2 years and it doesn't look like the pre-reqs are listed, or are they?

Is the program year-round or are the summers off?

What is the complete cost of tuition, books, etc to complete the nursing program?

Is it better to go part-time or full-time?

I have no prior nursing experience. How can I know if nursing is right for me?

Any additional help/info is greatly appreciated!

Either you know you want to be a Nurse or you don't. Why are you applying? What do you think of when you hear the word Nurse? Goodwin is very expensive. Did you apply to the CT colleges? If you read the process you'll see they really want you to take pre-req theres because of the point system. You don't need to take them there but you lose a lot of points. When I took classes there two years ago a credit was like $495/credit. Go to the seminars they have listed on the website. There is one tomorrow and they can answer all of your questions.

Goodwin College is over priced. I would recommend applying to the Connecticut Community College Nursing Program. The CC program is far more affordable and offers great experiences and well educated staff.

I just finished my first semester in the RN program at Goodwin, and while the RN program is great, the rest of the school kind of sucks. It is WAY too expensive and the student support sucks. They enrolled me in the wrong class once, and financial aid is a nightmare. I had a ton of "points" (4.0 GPA, 99% on my NLN, community service, prior degree, tons of classes at goodwin) but I think it is less competitive than they make it out to be.

I am very happy with my education in the program so far. The 2 year degree is without the prereqs. It goes year round.
