I've read through last year's version of this thread 100 times, so I thought I'd start a new one. I'm planning to apply for NCC's 2014 program. I'm taking A&P I right now (A- midterm grade, hoping to make that an A!) and will need to do the software applications class online in the winter session, so I won't be able to submit my app until final grades are out for that. Hopefully I won't be cutting it too close to the Feb 1st deadline! I'm taking my TEAS on November 18th.

Who else is applying? Where are you in the application process? Post your TEAS scores and GPA stats if you know them! My nursing GPA will be almost a 3.8 with an A- in A&P and an A in CSA105, but I dropped out two semesters in a row in 2006 (one semester medically excused but still on my transcript, the other no excuse, just screwed up being 19 and not very serious about my education at that time) I hope those hiccups won't count against me too much, luckily none of the classes I was taking at the time applied to the nursing program.

I got a c- in CAP 110 ! :( I guess I will be retaking it...

I just found out I got accepted to St Vs but I don't think It would be wise to attend. They are requiring that I retake ALL of my sciences with them!! (A&P 1,2 , Micro etc) (No way!!!) lol The way I see it more time and $$ :nono:

Anyway, off to take the TEAS on Thursday...Any Tips!??

Thanks Viv, my wedding was fantastic and the honeymoon was even better ;) I just got all of my paperwork back from the doctor's office today, had to have a mumps booster, so by the skin of my teeth I should be able to upload it in time haha. Anyone pick out shoes yet?? I have no idea what to get, I hear Danskos are good but they're expensive and clunky looking to me.

I have to take Micro as a hybrid in the fall...I hope it's not going to be too much to handle but the summer courses wouldn't have worked for me. Tell me honestly guys, am I gonna die?? Anyone who's taken it at NCC?

Hi! I wanted to buy the danskos, but with us having to wear only white shoes( that after the program I will never wear again), I went with a similar style but Cherokee. They are comfortable and cost only $50.00 and should last the 2 years for school.

I think you will be fine in the fall with micro, it's just a lot of memorizing and it does link up to the program, with what we need to know. :)

They sent a detailed schedule of the orientation days via email, but basically it's 8/18 9:00-2:45 and 8/20 9:00-12:30

I've heard mixed reviews on St. V's and it's also crazy expensive. I think you're definitely making the right choice. I think retaking the computer course is a good idea too.

Do you have the TEAS study guide? I found it very helpful, but I dedicated an entire weekend to reading it cover to cover. If you have taken Chem and A&P already you will be in good shape for the science section. I remember having a lot of questions about the cardiovascular system, lots of chem (balancing equations and determining chemical properties) and a few odd ones about earth sciences (cloud and rock formations) but everyone gets something different. I honestly felt like I was doing horribly the whole time, but I ended up getting a good score on the first try. As with any test, just take your time, read the questions thoroughly and you'll be okay. Good luck!

Oh my gosh! I never got an email!! ? when did they send it? To the school email or personal email?

No problem! I have my school email set up to forward to my personal one, so I'm not sure where they sent it. Check both, and if you don't have it in either you can PM me your email address and I'll forward it to you.

I have no idea how to pm, on here! I would love to have a copy, do you when you received it? I checked both emails and nothing I also sent an email to them about not getting it. I also have my school linked to personal email and I never seen that. Now, I'm going crazy wondering if I missed something else... As I'm walking into take my micro final! ?
