Okay,

I just got my acceptance letter in the mail today!!

I was going totally mental with anxiety, checking this board several times a day to see when people were hearing back, compared to when they had applied and what their stats were. I was also very nervous about how I had done on the TEAS, so I wanted to post my info to help other people a little. Here are my stats:

I applied to the school January 4th, 2010. I took the TEAS January 23rd, 2010.

Previous BA degree in anthropology. I graduate in August of 2009 with a 3.46 cumulative GPA.

I took A&P I last fall, at Gateway: B

Developmental Psych: A

TEAS: 81.2% (mean national was 72.8% and the mean for the program 73.3%)

My adjusted individual scores were as follows:

Reading: 82.5%

Math: 82.2%

Science: 70%

English: 85.5%

In all my nervousness, I called two days ago and was told that I would likely hear back from the in school 4-6 weeks. Then I got my letter today, February 5th. For the record, my admissions essay was based on a CNA training course I took in the fall and I also think that having a previous BA really helped, especially in seeing past that nasty 70% in the science section of the TEAS.

Good luck and I hope this information was helpful, or at least of interest, to some of you!!

i know.. i keep telling my self every night to just go to sleep because i will get it tomorrow.. and it just never comes! haha.. i really hope its good news.. i keep second guessing my self about EVERYTHING though.. like i should have studied a little harder or spent more time on my essay.. or done something to raise my gpa.. i dont know i thought i was confident but now that i have so much time to think about it i keep thinking about all the things i could have done better..

Haha, you are not alone! I did the same thing when I was waiting. I even took out my transcripts and browsed through all my grades to see if there was something that may prevent me from getting in. I think I read over my essay about 50+ times, looking for any potential grammar or punctuation errors. Then I kept beating myself up over the TEAS exam since I didn't finish the Math section in time. I kept saying, if only I could retake it I could have easily boosted my score by another 5+ points.

I found that looking for school supplies helped to take my mind off wondering if I'd get in or not. I pretty much figured out everything that I was going to buy before I got the letter. Haha, you're gonna laugh over this oneā€¦. I even decided to check my horoscope on every site imaginable, looking for some indication that I may be receiving good news! And you know what, the day I received the letter was the day that my horoscope told me I would receive big news that would bring much excitement.

I received my letter this past Friday and I wasn't accepted:crying2:.. They give no reason why:confused:..I'm thinking maybe I should apply after getting my grade for A&P I this semester. I know they say you need English and Chemistry to apply but I'm sure they want to see your science grades as well. I didn't take it as hard as I thought I would. I'm actually relief that I finally received the letter, the wait was really driving me nuts. I have two classes left ,A&P II and Micro and I will be totally done with my pre-requisites. I will apply to BHSN in September, Norwalk, Gateway and Cochran in NY. For everyone that was accepted into the Nursing Program~~~ Best Wishes and keep us updated!! :redbeathe

I'm sorry to hear that TMBX. Well, like you said, at least you finally know. Now you can start planning for the rest of the year. If you do well in AP1, AP2 & Micro before applying again at the end of the year, you should definitely have a better chance. You could also check out the Uconn - Stamford program. I know they have a few more prerequisites, but you still have plenty of time to work on them by the time applications are due in the fall. Their program begins in January, which wouldn't be as long of a wait for you. If you're interested, it is worth a shot. Best of luck to you in whatever you decide to do! :)

ladybug.. i had to do something to get my mind off it so i was searching my horoscope for some hope..this is what mine said for this week!! hopefully its right! i still didnt get anything today..

You will have great news and the opportunity to get started on a cherished career goal

You are destined to get accepted! :yeah:

ugghhhh still no letter!!! i want to call but i dont want to be annoying and they take back my acceptance.. haha.. i just want to know!!!

Just call, can't hurt! Worst they could say is that you'll just have to be patient just a little longer.

hey guys still no letter here either from anywhere yet. I was told I would get my southern one this week but havent heard anything yet. Unfortunatly 2 of the classes i have to take are internships and the rest have to be done in a classroom cause they arent offered online so im still in the process of figuring out what im gonna do about the whole thing.....so stressful :uhoh3:

Anyone receive any letters yet???
