HighlyBlessedRN: Thank you for the great info. Good luck in your future as a nurse. MarcusPaxton: I rushed the last reference letter to the school, and they updated that they received my Gateway transcript. I have one more document that might be a problem for me, because it is out of my control. But I will stay positive, and if it's meant to be then it will be. Vivinursingstudent: Congrats! You must be well excited!

HighlyBlessedRN: When you say Math, what should we focus on? Is it conversions? Formulas? Are you allowed to use calculators?

Hey everyone!! Just to give an update, still no response from Bhsn! I have even emailed admissions and I have left a message. No return phone call or email, soo I am starting to think that they send out acceptance letters first and then the denials. That's the only thing that would explain people getting acceptance letters before people that put it in earlier. I'm pretty much over it now ! Waiting to here back from my other schools smh. Frustrated me

Hi Everyone! Congrats to those who have gotten in and don't lose hope to those who haven't heard back yet. I have been waiting forever, reading these boards, doubting myself. But I got my acceptance letter yesterday! So excited to start! Nice to meet you all :)

For those of u who are waiting Maybe you will hear something next week because students are on spring break I believe. As far as the math tests go a couple of them you will be allowed to use a green card with formulas on them. A lot of employers give you a math exam before even allowing you to interview. You can use a calc but dont get too comfortable with calcs because some jobs give calc free exams so it would be nice to be strong in math. Sample type of questions are conversions: kg to lbs and vice versa, oz to ml, g to mg. also safe dose calculations for pediatrics, concentrations, how much of a med you need to draw up or administer, etc.there are plenty of sample questions online too if you need practice...plus if u fail the math tests they remediate and you have 1 more chance to pass

I sent in my deposit on Friday. I hope it gets there in time, I didn't get my acceptance letter until 5 days after the date they sent it. I called the office just to let them know that it was on its way. For those accepted already, did you hear back from them at all after you sent in your deposit? What's our next step? :)

Once you send in your deposit, there's nothing to do but wait. The letter said that we'll receive an orientation packet in the late Spring.

Have any of you guys done A&P?

If not, is anybody planning on taking A&P I and II during Summer at Housatonic?

Thanks!

I took both A&P 1 and 2 during the Summer. A&P 1 i took at Gateway (Dr. Able) , and A&P II at Housatonic (Dr. *****). Definitely a challenge, but do able as long as it is the only class you are taking. I got the book early and started making flash cards of important terms ahead of time and I used the Kaplan Anatomy flashcards. They were most helpful for the bones and muscles so I used them mostly in A&P 1. Good Luck!
