Hello Everyone,

Are you taking your pre-requisites now to apply for a nursing program in Fall 2017? What courses are you taking now? And what college(s) are you thinking about applying to?

I could not take courses this Spring due to finances. I am going to be taking A&P 1 11 this summer. I know that it may be too early to think about next year, but it doesn't hurt to think ahead. I look forward to hearing from you.

Money is tough for me only working part time. Can't complain make more money then I do at full time jobs applied for. Anyways side tracked planned to do A&P 1 this semester, but there was a hold at the CC. Apparently since I have my Bachelor's they wanted my updated transfer. So I am retaking Psych 101 online; way back in 05 took Psych received a D when I was too immature to care how classes turned out.

Plan to take hoping can finance it Intermediate Algebra, really don't want to take it. However, NVCC is the only CC that requires it for Chemistry. Also Southern requires it as a prerequisite. Hoping if I can finance it take Stats or Lifespan not sure yet. May try to take Lifespan in a online winter session.

Then plan to take A&P 1 in the fall

A&P 2 in the Spring and with Chemistry 101, if I can afford it.

Then Micro in the Summer.

Then Chem 2 and Physics 101 in the fall. Plan to take the TEAS in 2017. Also apply to programs.

Debating to apply to LPN school. Can be in school by the Fall of 2016 and out by the end of the year of 2017. It's tempting. Then go for my BSN or MSN.

I plan on applying to NVCC and Gateway come 2017. I just need to retake chem (been 12 years since I took it in high school) and the TEAS then I'm good to go.

Specializes in Maternity & newborn.

Hi! I have taken AP1, Chem, English, both psych's, basically all the pre- and co-reqs besides sciences. Currently taking chem for a better grade. I am also taking CSA because it's an easy A and it counts in the nGPA. I am going to have to retake AP1 at St V's as they are the only school that makes you pass a competency exam (I wont pass) and I'd like to get started in the actual program as soon as possible. I have heard they may accept a student into the program while they are still taking AP1, but this is supposedly on a case by case basis. I like St. V's and BHSN, but if I get a seat at Norwalk CC I am definitely taking it!!! I don't know when exactly to take my teas..should probably get on that!

:-( :-( :-( Goodbye BHSN :-( :-( :-(

You'll pass the competency exam

Really like St Vs to, but they did away with their evening program

My first post! Greetings all. :)

@OP, I don't think it's early at all. Nothing wrong with planning ahead. It's nice to have a support system with people on the same path.

My goal is to apply Fall 2017 @ St Petersburg College for their ADN program. I just moved from California some weeks ago though, so I'm currently a nonresident and have the lowest priority. I took all my prereqs in Cal and didn't get in because my GPA was too low (3.3 or something).

The requirements here are fairly similar. The only new courses I need are Ethics and intro Humanities. I won't be a resident until next spring though, so I'll kill time by retaking some classes and boost my GPA. My plan is to take Humanities and English (got a C freshman year) this summer; both online. Fall semester, I'll retake A&P1 (B) and take Healthcare Ethics; both online. Spring, I'll retake A&P2 ©; online. If I successfully get As in the five of those, my GPA will be a 3.76. I hear the cutoff at SPC is usually around 3.6 and that's not including alternates. So, there's hope, but I have to work hard.

I work full time, so the online options are perfect for me. Their retake policy doesn't affect transfer credit, which is all I have currently, so I've lucked out. A second chance!

I'm looking forward to reading everyone's success stories and "I got in!" posts a year from now. :)
