I pay the full platinum rate because they put a lot of hard work into the design and maintenance of this forum. This is not a cookie cutter forum.

I pay for the site! It's helped me out so much I figured getting a little picture next to my name would be worth the money.

Money is tight and at this time i can't justify paying the premium fees for the site, but I have learned so much just from what is available to non-paying members! I would like to think that once I have a little extra spending cash, I will support the site, not b/c I want any of the extras, but because I appreciate that forums cost money to run and I would like to contribute to that cost. Even if they only asked for donations w/out any extras as a benefit I would gladly give to keep it going. I just need to keep my family fed first

I too pay for premium because this site has been so valuable to me over the past 5 years in terms of information, support and friendships.
Although I hate every change initially I still think this is the most user friendly and easiest to navigate of all the sites I visit.
I pay so that I can show my support for the creator of the site Brian, and all my web friends who post here regularly.
I can't imagine my life without allnurses, it's my morning newspaper and my evening goodnite. Sometimes lunch too.
Nursing has been very good to me and I want to use what little knowledge and wisdom I have gained to help others and this site lets me do that too.
When you can afford to pay think about making a money committment, until then just use as needed. We'll all be here

Who would ever think that seeing a handle would make you as excited as if you met an old friend in the street? I see some of the handles here and say to myself "I wonder how so and so fared out over that nasty situation mentioned a few weeks ago" or you may see some of our doozies and say "So and So is still ruffling feathers". I have not met anyone here face to face (that I know of, anyhow ), but many of the members here are dear to me.

I usually hang out here in the General Discussion Room or the LPN/LVN Corner. When I do drop over to the member's only side or venture into other uncharted areas, when I see that a handle I am used to seeing in one area, I get excited again, because I am learning something else about that person...another aspect. I sneak in here (like now, when I should be working), and definitely when I get home...wondering how everyone is doing. We fight, we disagree, we support each other emphatically (usually) and it is home. I eventually felt that I had to pay to get to know these folks better and I don't regret it.

"a handle" ? Are you a former trucker?

(I just looked it up in the urban dictionary - the first definition is "half a gallon of alcohol"!!. .. . )

I was really stuck trying to find another way to describe our screen names and handle was the best I can come up with. Now, if some of us are chugging 1/2 gallons of ETOH, then, well, maybe that is another reason why we have so much fun in here...
