UNC - 2011 start - Page 2
Register Today!- Sep 30, '10 by Blueberry36Thanks Sand_Dollar!!!
I am just finishing up my pre reqs, I am in A&P and biochem this semester along with getting my CNA. In the Spring I will be taking nutrition, patho and pharm on campus
I have taken most of my pre reqs at Aims and FRCC so it seems like most of the people in my classes are applying to those programs. Well YAY!! I am excited for us I can't wait until December so we can get these applications on the road.
Good Luck!! Keep me posted too!! - Oct 23, '10 by Sand_DollarWell, it's close to that time again - the new applications are available on the nursing program site.
I am attending an advising meeting this Tuesday from 4-5 so I can get my PIN that allows me to register for spring (which opens Nov 8). Is anyone else going to be at the advising session? I'll be registering for Pharm and Nutrition, along with a few filler classes. Wow....the end of the pre-reqs is in sight!!
- Oct 25, '10 by Blueberry36Yay!! I was so excited to see the applications posted on UNC's website. I am not attending that advising session but I will be registered for Nutrition & Pharm next semester. Good Luck!!!!
- Oct 25, '10 by Sand_DollarDo you already have a PIN, Blueberry? I wish I didn't have to go to an advising session, but I guess it's required to get that darn PIN. It's not like I don't know which classes to take this spring.

Which times are you registering for? I hope to be taking Nutrition on WTWF and Pharm on Thursdays. Maybe we'll be in the same classes.
I was excited to finally see the app uploaded too. It's now sitting on my desktop so I can stare at it for the next two months!
Last edit by Sand_Dollar on Oct 25, '10 : Reason: I'm a spelling nazi, so kill me! - Oct 27, '10 by Sand_DollarI got a little bit more info yesterday.
The lowest GPA accepted last year was a 3.4 and the average was 3.7.
They have usually between 140-150 applicants for the 72 spots.
About the program: their clinical hours are 1225, which is higher than the other program at 1080. 99% of the people that start the program finish it. There are also 6-7 students per clinical site.
One cool thing she was me was they have a new (4 months old) sim called NOELLE. She is pregnant and actually gives birth. She blinks, talks, all the vitals can be programmed - the cervix even dilates! They also have a sim baby and two others. The two others can have be filled with blood so they will bleed. It is awesome! I can't wait to see the sim lab!!
One last thing. They know there is a problem with the scheduling for the nutrition and the pharm class. They are going to try and fix that before registration starts so people don't have to come to campus every day. - Oct 28, '10 by ~Mi Vida Loca~RNQuote from Sand_DollarI got a little bit more info yesterday.

We have the SIM pregnant lady too, she gave birth last semester. lol I gave CPR to the SIM man last week. - Dec 26, '10 by Sand_DollarIs anyone going to be taking the last of their pre-reqs on campus this spring? I will be in Nutrition on T/Th and Pharm on Tuesdays. Thankfully, they changed the scheduling conflict and now I only have to drive 2 days a week... however I have to get from Gunter Hall to the Library in 15 minutes - I just figure I will get some speed walking time in!
- Feb 16, '11 by Sand_DollarIf any hopefuls are lurking and interested: the nursing office said they hope to get the letters out this week.
Good luck to those waiting!
