If there are other options out there to pay for nursing school? Any luck with schlorships etc?? Thanks!

- Oct 18, '11 by Sand_DollarThis is my first degree, so I will be OK when it comes to gov't loans, but I wanted to let you know that scholarships are available.
First thing you should do is check with your school. I received a 1000/semester scholarship when I transferred into my university because of my GPA, and another 500/semester because I belong to Phi Theta Kappa. My school has a universal scholarship application that applies to something like 26 different ones they offer, I happened to receive one of those last month. My nursing class was also sent forms to fill out for two more scholarships, but since they were needs based I knew I would not get those, so didn't apply to them.
In total, my scholarships pay for just over 1/4 of my tuition.
