University of Colorado accelerated BSN summer 2013

U.S.A. Colorado

Published

Hi everyone!

Who else has submitted their application? Due date was October 15th.

I did not realize that an invitational only interview was required! I wish they gave more advanced noticed than October 25th in order to have gotten the best value on a plane ticket.

What are your backgrounds? Are you applying to any other accelerated nursing programs?

I have over 4 years of experience as a medical assistant (college graduate, did not go to school to become MA). I'm happy that this program does not require more prerequisites. Some other accelerated schools around the country require Organic chemistry and Biochemistry! Thankfully I have all my prereqs completed. I do not live in Colorado and I am open to moving anywhere for an accelerated BSN. Other schools I havce applied to so far include UW and SUNY Stony Brook.

eando, I was impressed with how qualified everyone was, and how great everyone even in my groups' answers were too! I don't know how they are going to make such a large cut again after the interview! And yeah, I've heard 10-12 days and before Thanksgiving. :) I didn't realize how much I would start frantically checking the mail once the interview piece was over. Good luck to both of us!

And kerleigh722, thank you! I've been hearing people guessing up to five. My interview is Friday but I have lived in Colorado my entire life. I really hope it's not a bad sign that I am not from out of state. Are you interviewing this time around for Regis?

Anyone hear anything yet? I am anxiously waiting!!

same here! I really want to know...

hopefully we will hear some news soon!

I called today they said sometime next week they will be sending out letters and letting people know

Hi all! I just heard today - I live in the Denver area and the letter was postmarked 11/20, so it looks like they sent them out yesterday. I got into the Traditional program. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

i just got my letter today (in aurora), postmarked 11/21. i was accepted for the traditional pathway. best of luck to everyone!

I was excited to receive my letter today as well! I was accepted into the accelerated program. I am looking forward to starting the program and meeting classmates.

Those who got acceptance, care to share what your qualifications were as far as undergrad GPA, what your major was, pre-req GPA, healthcare/volunteer experience, and how good you thought your essay/interview was/went?

I haven't been able to check my mail for travel reasons and it is very scary knowing my future either way could be sitting in my mailbox 800 miles away.

Congrats to everyone accepted. I am still waiting for my letter, as it had to go all the way to Pennsylvania. I am really hoping to find out that I have an acceptance into the accelerated program this week!

Hey all, I live on the east coast and got my acceptance letter for the accelerated program on Saturday. Congrats to everyone who was accepted - looking forward to meeting you all!

I found out today I got offered a spot in the traditional program. I am definitely grateful and relieved ... but also pretty bummed, because I really wanted the accelerated program. I had a good interview, have (nearly) a 4.0 GPA, plus 10 yrs healthcare experience. The only thing I didn't have was a Master's degree. Best of luck to everyone still waiting. I am not sure where to go from here yet...

I received my letter yesterday! It was dated 11/19, but didn't reach CA til 11/26. Just like bird8, I applied to the accelerated, but was offered traditional. I'm a little bummed, but being offered a spot in the traditional is still better than waiting another year to apply! Congrats to everyone for getting in!
