Experienced RN relocating

  1. Hi everyone,

I am planning a move to the Denver area due to my spouse finding a job there as a teacher. I have two years of psychiatric and med/surg experience on multiple floors.

I was wondering how far in advance I might be able to apply for jobs there? I would love to have a job nailed down before the move. Also, due to the fact that we can't hold more than one compact license at a time, do you think that employers will shy away from my Texas licensure, until I can declare residence in CO?

Thank you so much for your time

If you have a Texas licence you are in the enhanced licence compact and it will work in Colorado with absolutly zero issues or second thoughts. Once you declare redicency in Colorado you will have to go through their process...and still have a compact license, subject to certain exclusions.

As to getting a job there...start applying. Most systems have great career sections on their sites.
