Denver=BSN only??

Hi,

I have been looking and applying for RN jobs in Denver and keep getting rejected. I have 1.5 years experience in a trauma step down and surgical unit, TNCC certified, been both a preceptor and charge nurse. I have my RN license and an associate degree.

Do Denver hospitals only hire BSNs? What hospitals should I be trying for?

I am at a loss and need a new job soon as my husband just got a new job in the thorton area.

No, not at all. All facilities do hire ADNs with experience, including magnet facilities. It's just a really hard market for RNs.

There are a few that require BSN (I think University and Childrens) but they state so on their web site, most do not. A number of hospitals are relocating, the most recent St Anthony Central. They might have a fair turnover during that process. Keep at it, good luck.

No, neither the university hospital nor children's requires a BSN, as long as you are an experienced RN. They do require a BSN for new grads, however.

Thanks for the input! Do u have any advice on getting a job (or at the very least, getting an interview) at either children's or university? University has turned me down several times and I don't understand why.

No advice. Both University and Children's have turned ME down several times as well in the past few months, and I already work there. Like I said, it's a hard, sucky market right now.

Nope, my wife and I were both just hired and I am a new grad with a ADN and she has 10 years experience with an ADN. Both of us hired from the first hospital we called from out of state. Maybe revise your resume and cover letter? I dont know.
